So for the first time in about 10 years, I've shaved off my goatee and have a bald face. It's not about having a new look and it wasn't my wife's request, but instead it's about kids. More specifically, it's about Mustaches 4 Kids. I'm growing a "stache" (which meant all "growers" needed to shave first) during the month of November to raise money for a bunch of great child-serving organizations with excellent services located in Lynchburg. And here's why I've shaved my face and am doing something (asking people for money) that isn't tops on my list: I grew up in an intact family with a mom and dad who loved each other and who did their very best to love me and my siblings and get us off to good start in life. We didn't have a lot of money, but we had what counted most. So it pains me as I see kids in my community who don't have the very basics for starting life well, and who need some extra support to become all that they were meant to be.
Fortunately, we have some outstanding organizations who help serve as a safety net for kids. These organizations -- including Jubilee Family Development Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Virginia, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg, CASA of Central Virginia, Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Unified 4 Kids, Iron Lives, the Claire Parker Foundation, The Miller Home for Girls, Miriam’s House, Beacon of Hope, Kids Haven, Patrick Henry Family Services, Lynchburg Police Foundation, Mary Bethune Academy, New Vistas and Amazement Square -- who are helped by Mustaches 4 Kids have done a phenomenal job. This funding is crucial.
So would you consider helping these efforts to serve more kids by donating to my page? Any donation will be appreciated. Donations are fully tax deductible and every penny raised goes to the organizations. To make a donation you can click on this link: https://m4klynchburg.org/
I sincerely appreciate you considering this.
