As a younger man I learned - after a lot of pointing and laughing - that I was not "cut out" to have any sort of facial hair. Now I am throwing away those valuable life lessons to grow a mustache for a great cause and I need your help.
Mustaches for Kids (M4K) Lynchburg improves the quality of life for local children by partnering individual "growers" with local charities. Basically, we grow mustaches for a month as a marketing tool to raise money for some amazing organizations like Beacon of Hope - whose mission is to provide young people fair and equitable access to higher education and technical certification training programs after high school. Last year M4K raised and donated over $500,000 for dozens of local charities and this year our goal is to raise even more.
So, yes, I will look a little ridiculous for the next month — if you can even see it through the grey hair — but it is for a great cause.
